Selects an anonymous online survey, with both open- and closed-ended questions, as a safe data-collection method during level 3 lockdown (from March to May 2020), via social media and email networks. Analyses 220 responses from nurses regarding access issues with ICT, with technical support, connectivity, and with patients and colleagues.

Identifies four themes: protecting the community while being a risk to the community; social stigma; families and social connections; being part of, but apart from, other health professionals. Underlines the importance for employers, colleagues, and the wider community of supporting nurses during a pandemic.
