Interviews thirteen registered nurses and one enrolled nurse working in different nursing positions within the Southern District Health Board -- Mental Health Services. Codes data into 24 sub-themes related to the sequence and impact of assaults on the participants. Discusses the nature and impact of assaults and the supportive strategies associated with violence against mental health nurses. |

Abstract |
Explores the current climate of infection prevention control (IPC) clinical governance in NZ. Audits IPC management plans in NZ District Health Boards (DHB) to evaluate which clinical governance factors facilitate or hinder IPC best practice. Employs a mixed-method, exploratory, qualitative study design to conduct semi-structured interviews with ten IPC nurses across NZ. Seeks to understand their perceptions of the IPC Standard, how it is implemented in their DHB, how the IPC risks are managed, and which barriers hinder IPC engagement. Analyses IPC documentation from all 20 DHBs to examine IPC clinical governance in each DHB. |

Reports research that explores the experience of raising a child with severe allergies in NZ and the potential for an anaphylactic reaction. Utilises an auto-ethnographic research approach to provide details of managing the diagnosis and day to day life of a child with severe allergies through narratives written from the perspective of the child's mother who is also a nurse. Undertakes a thematic analysis of the auto-ethnographic narrative, producing four emergent themes: being the mother; being a nurse; who is supporting us?; and desperately seeking knowledge. |
