Presents an odds ratio for at least one cardiovascular risk factor based on a number of factors. Asserts that risk reduction strategies should be targeted to meet the specific ethno-cultural needs of Filipinos. |

Abstract |
Identifies factors affecting pressure injury prevention in aged residential care. Interviews 10 staff from two aged care facilities, along with relevant policy and practice documents. Analyses data using triangulation and pattern matching to pinpoint three themes: staffing; leadership, teamwork, and communication; and assessment and early intervention. Finds a correlation between difficult work conditions with high-dependency patients and complex care needs, and prevalence of pressure injuries. |

Undertakes an extensive literature search in online databases, highlighting the main themes about loneliness interventions. Determines that interventions must foster reciprocal relationships and promote quality social engagement with others, while residents must receive personalised care to reduce loneliness. |

Explores nurses' experiences of caring for patients who have had surgery for oral cavity cancer in one NZ hospital, involving wound care, tracheostomy management, oral care, ongoing patient education and the provision of emotional support to patients and families. Interviews three registered nurses about the challenges involved in caring for this patient group; their moral conflict over the effects of surgery on the patients; their professional uncertainty, and the emotional effort involved in nursing oral cavity cancer patients. Suggests the need for informal debriefing, grief counselling, clinical supervision, stress management training, and continuing education in this specialised role. |
