Abstract: Undertakes an evidence-based practice pilot project to examine the effectiveness of simulation-based learning in teaching nursing students to become aware of the role of stress, anxiety and distraction in medication errors. Stresses the importance of medication-error prevention at the pre-licensure level, by increasing awareness of patient safety culture. Notes the need to teach nursing students self-awareness of the distractions and stresses within the clinical environment and therefore the need for self-care to avoid medication error.

Conducts 12 one-to-one, semi-structured face-to-face interviews, which were analysed using Braun and Clarke's method of thematic analysis. Abstract: Determines what mental health (MH) nurses understand the concept of self-management to mean in relation to patients with a diagnosis of Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). Interviews 10 MH nurses using a semi-structured format and analyses data using the general inductive approach, resulting in 26 sub-themes organised into three over-arching themes: self management is self-responsibility, self-management is self-awareness, self-management is maintaining safety.
