Draws on the tenets of postmodernism and Foucauldian discourse analysis methodology to question the discourses and discursive practices that influence the use of HFS as an approach to intentional and unintentional teaching and learning in pre-registration nursing education in NZ. Explores how this shapes nursing students' subjectivity and, ultimately, nursing practice. |

Proposes strategies to improve age-appropriate vaccination among refugee children after resettlement in NZ, based on five themes from the data: resettlement priorities; knowledge about refugees; learning to use the health system; communication between caregivers and health providers; culturally and linguistically appropriate services. |

Avers that in undertaking an integrative review, Granduate Entry Nursing students learn how nursing care is based in evidence-based practice. Considers the common problems for nursing students which make supervisory oversight necessary at every stage. Draws on the experiences of three academic supervisors with threshold concepts to suggest that incorporating a research identity into students' developing nursing identity enhances evidence-informed practice. |

Distributes a questionnaire to a group of 22 newly-arrived IQNs, and conducts interviews with 10 IQNs who had been working in NZ for several years. Uncovers the motivations among the first group and reflections on the Competence Assessment Programme (CAP) among the second. Makes recommendations for CAP training based on the results of the study. |
